EVERLEIGH SOLAR FARM

The Everleigh Solar Farm and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) is a hybrid renewable energy generation and storage project located in the Western Downs region of Queensland, Australia.


The project is designed to contribute to the region’s clean energy supply by delivering solar generation supported by battery energy storage. Once operational, it will support Queensland’s transition to a cleaner and more reliable energy network.

Everleigh Solar Park Pty Ltd is committed to delivering lasting benefits for First Nations and local communities through employment, training, and social impact initiatives. Developed in consultation with stakeholders, key commitments include Barunggam employment roles integrated into the Cultural Heritage Management Plan. Some engagements with various organisations such as TAFE Queensland and Chinchilla Chamber of Commerce with the intention to create job readiness program and a community sustainability grants program.

 

Commitments will be reviewed and adapted with community input throughout the project’s construction and operation phases.

Key Features:

Capacity

The project is designed to have a 120 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) array, with a 150 MW / 400 MWh BESS.

Location

The Everleigh Solar Farm is situated in Queensland, in the Western Downs Regional Council area, near Crossroads.

Grid Connection

The project is planned to connect to the 275kV Orana substation owned and operated by Powerlink.

Current Status & Timeline

The Everleigh Solar Farm has received Development Approvals and is currently performing Connection Studies. Construction is expected to begin in the second half of 2027 and begin operation by mid 2029.
